"Halloween Candy Science",

with Dr. Richard Hartel, Professor of Food Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

This 30-45 minute interactive presentation will be super fun, engaging, and educational!

Overview:

Perhaps you’ve enjoyed candy at Halloween at some point in your life, most of us have. You probably didn’t realize there was so much science involved in making your favorite Halloween treat. During this interactive session, you’ll learn some of the science behind candy making while eating and experiencing several of them, and gain a greater appreciation into what goes into filling up that Halloween bag with goodies.

Here are the candies you can have on-hand for the presentation:

Tootsie Rolls – at least 2 of them

Snickers bar, any size

Charleston Chew

3 Musketeers

Kraft or Brach’s caramel

Werthers chew caramel

Candy corn

We can't wait to see you there!
